Fortitude Valley’s iconic playground for dining, drinks, and dancing has unveiled its latest evolution—a late-night escape where music, glamour and good times collide.

Introducing ‘Palais’—reimagined and ready to shine on the mezzanine above Cloudland Garden and beneath rooftop brewery Valley Hops. Designed to take guests seamlessly from dinner and drinks to dancing in a hot minute, Palais promises to be a mecca for late-night fun.

 

Encased in rich timber panelling, plush furnishings, and warm marble accents, Palais is designed for indulgence. Bold, deco-inspired statement pieces bring the space to life, from the Orbit Lounge to the expansive dance floor. The centrepiece? Cloudland’s signature shimmering circular bar, adorned with thousands of crystal spheres—a nod to its origins and an iconic focal point that continues to set the scene for nights that shine.

CEO Paul Janssen says, “Palais is the beating heart of Cloudland—where great music and late-night magic come together. Whether guests are flowing in from dinner at the Garden or arriving ready to hit the dancefloor, it’s a space designed to elevate the night and reimagine what a Valley late-out can be.”

From an after-work aperitif to an all-out love affair with the dance floor, Palais is where the night takes on a life of its own. The cocktail menu tempts with seductive creations like the Ruby Rendezvous—a bold mix of bourbon, dark chocolate, black walnut, and beetroot—finished with a gold-leaf-coated beetroot chip. Agave aficionados won’t be able to resist the Mezcal Marg, while the Mandarin Paloma—garnished with grapefruit flowers and salt—adds a vibrant twist to a classic.

As the drinks flow, so does the music. Palais’ bespoke circular DJ booth sets the stage for an eclectic line-up of resident DJs and touring acts.

 

“It’s about creating an experience that unfolds naturally,” says Entertainment Director Zygmund Bickle. “Local selectors craft their sets using vinyl on dual turntables to create something unique and dynamic. Expect a rich blend of warm, organic, and timeless sounds inspired by disco, funk, soul, jazz, house and rare groove, embracing deep cuts and underground selections rather than mainstream hits.” Whether it’s smooth grooves or bold beats, the soundtrack will take the night exactly where it needs to go.

The all new Palais is now open from Thursday Sunday on the mezzanine level of Cloudland.
